Myself

Don Kontjreto de Djambrong is the nickname for Tri Laksmana Astraatmadja, which is my full name. I am an astronomer-wannabe and is easily fascinated by almost every topic imaginable. I was born in Indonesia, the biggest archipelago nation in the world, the 4th most populous country in the world, and IMHO is one of the shittiest country on this planet but at the same time is also the most beautiful and intriguing country you can ever imagine. It has a very diverse people and a rich history. I bet that scientists on every field will have a real field day in Indonesia (but don’t bother to tell your findings to the Indonesian government: they would never listen). The most exciting thing about living in Indonesia is facing all these complexity, its conflicts, and trying to change all the shitty things in our country.

The year 2006 is a big event for me (in order): I finished my bachelor study after 6.5 grueling (and fun) years, I turned 25 (yeah all right, it’s only a number, but I think it’s a nice milestone), and I began my master study in the country that was once our colonial master: The Netherlands. As it is an exciting place to learn astronomy and at the same time is a great place to learn about one of the roots of Indonesia, I’m looking forward to explore all The Netherlands can offer about these two things.

I started this blog about 2 months after I arrive in The Netherlands. So come along and read what kinds of things an astronomer-wannabe faced daily.
